Nestled amidst majestic redwoods and bordered by towering cypress trees, our 14-acre Treehouse Vineyard, established in 2006, has a very special place in the heart of our winemaker. Its vibrant Franciscan soils and cool coastal sunshine create an environment where vines flourish, producing wines of extraordinary depth and complexity, marked by their youthful vitality and distinctive identity.
The 2022 growing season was defined by warm temperatures and naturally low yields, which allowed the fruit to develop exceptional concentration and balance. Crafted from six elite clones, the Treehouse Vineyard Pinot Noir was fermented utilizing 10% whole clusters and spent up to 17 days on the skins, intensifying its natural structure. Aged for 18 months in 41% new French oak, the wine unfurls in waves of stewed cherry, marionberry, and mulberry, balanced by notes of violet with a delightful savory undertone. The result is an energetic and powerful Pinot Noir with a long, explosive finish.
Fact of Note: This vintage yielded the lowest harvest to date for Treehouse Vineyard, coming in at 1.5 tons per acre.
THE RUSSIAN RIVER VALLEY IS hallowed ground for lovers of great Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Here, the vines are submersed in clockwork fog and daytime temperature swings, which preserve the natural acidity essential to elegant, age-worthy wines. We work with a handful of the most beloved vineyards from this remarkable wine region considered by many to be the heartland of California Pinot Noir.
