SINGLE VINEYARD SERIES

2021 Winemaker Series, 4-Barrel, California, Pinot Noir

Unshackled by geographic constraints, this wine comes straight from the heart of our winemaking team. 4-Barrel is a singular wine whose components change each year, but the promise and reason for being remain the same—a winemaker’s pledge to unearth a remarkable story from each vintage.

Combining the most sublime lots of wine from four of California’s most extraordinary vineyards with our favorite French oak coopers, our 2021 4-Barrel is a testament to everything we have learned about growing and making Pinot Noir over the past quarter-century. This consummate blend from the Treehouse, Rita’s Crown, Thorn Ridge Ranch, and Gap’s Crown vineyards is unfiltered and extraordinarily aromatic, leading with dark cherry and ripe plum. This wine is bold and round while maintaining exquisite precision, revealing brilliantly intricate layers. Piercing red fruit intertwines with dried herbs and baking spice with a hint of toast. The finish is broad, expressive, and lengthy, a sure sign it will age gracefully over time.

Fact of Note: Treehouse Vineyard and Rita’s Crown Vineyard are featured in the 4-Barrel blend for the third year in a row.

WILLAMETTE VALLEY, OREGON
THOUSANDS OF YEARS AGO, an ice dam burst from Glacial Lake Missoula, causing catastrophic flooding across Washington, down the Columbia River, and into Oregon, carrying treasures of glaciofluvial deposits. As a result, the enchanting soils of the Willamette Valley range from some of the deepest alluvial deposits to eroded basalts to uplifted sea beds—a Pinot Noir paradise

With soaring aromas and pure, exquisite flavors, these are incredible wines from a not-to-be-missed vintage.
