Single Vineyard Series
Gap’s Crown Vineyard, Sonoma Coast, Pinot Noir
Gap’s Crown Vineyard, owned and managed by Gap’s Crown, LLC, is located in the Petaluma Wind Gap, a region known for its ideal climate for growing Pinot Noir. Kosta Browne Winery has been sourcing grapes from Gap’s Crown since 2006 and now holds a long-term lease on 37 planted acres. Michael Browne, founder of Kosta Browne Winery, describes the vineyard as the backbone of their Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir program. The exceptional quality of the grapes from Gap’s Crown contributed to Kosta Browne’s 2009 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir being awarded Wine Spectator’s #1 Wine of the Year in 2011.
The vineyard’s viticulture is top-tier, and the care and attention to detail in their farming practices produce some of the finest grapes in Sonoma County. This partnership has proven fruitful over the years, and Gap’s Crown continues to be a key player in creating some of the most celebrated Pinot Noir in the region.
