How the allocation works
How long does it take to get an allocation?
Outside of release periods, new members receive a Welcome Offering—a curated selection of wines from the Russian River Valley and Sonoma Coast AVAs, subject to availability.
During active release periods, new members gain expedited access to our upcoming offering. This includes an introductory allocation from one of our core releases: the Russian River Offering in August or the Spring Release, featuring wines from Anderson Valley, Sonoma Coast, Santa Lucia Highlands, and Sta. Rita Hills.
With continued engagement over time, members unlock access to additional wines and exclusive offerings throughout the year.
Due to Mother Nature’s variance from vintage to vintage and limited production quantities, we cannot guarantee which specific wines will be included in each allocation or predict when a particular limited wine will become available to individual members. Our goal with every release is to share our wines with as many new members as possible while honoring the requests of current members.
How is wine allocated?
Over time, members who consistently order wine gain access to increased quantities and a broader selection of our wines. Since KB bottlings are produced in varying and limited quantities, not all wines can be offered to everyone. However, we strive to provide access to as many selections as possible and tailor allocations to individual preferences.
If a member chooses to forego participation in a release, that member’s guaranteed wines will be reallocated. To continually refine our allocations, future wish opportunities may or may not be provided.
Can you provide an example of the member journey?
After joining our KB community, new members receive a Welcome Offering*—an opportunity to secure a special selection of core wines from the Kosta Browne portfolio.
New Members will then receive an introductory allocation during the Russian River Offering in August, or our Spring release featuring wines from Anderson Valley, Sonoma Coast, Santa Lucia Highlands, and Sta. Rita Hills.
With ongoing participation in releases, members will unlock access to more limited wines from each region. Throughout their journey, members will be introduced to new bottlings within each release, availability permitting.
Since 2022, we have offered our Burgundy Series. Access to these limited-production bottlings varies due to quantity and state shipping restrictions.
*If joining during a release period, members will receive expedited access to that release in lieu of the Welcome Offering.
How can I get an increased allocation?
Over time, members who consistently order wines are given access to larger quantities of those selections. If you’d like more than your initial allocation, you may place a ‘wish request’ for additional wine. We will do our best to grant some or all of your wishes, which then results in an increased allocation of that wine in subsequent offerings, pending vintage size variation.
Even if we are unable to fulfill a wish, our team makes note of the unfulfilled request and uses that information to better curate an allocation for you in future offerings.
When are wines released?
We currently have two core Kosta Browne annual releases and two to three special releases throughout the year. Please note that not all members are included in every release or have access to all wines offered within a single release. How will I know when my allocation is available?
If you are invited to participate in a release, you can access your allocation through your member portal at https://members.kostabrowne.com.
Members who opt-in will receive emails and text messages during the release period.
To ensure you receive these emails, please add [email protected] to your email contacts.
Text ‘KB’ to 833-213-1303 to receive all release-related updates.
What happens with a ‘Wish Request’?
If you choose to wish for more wine than your initial allocation, we will do our best to connect you with additional bottlings. After the release period ends, all unclaimed wine will be reallocated to fulfill wish requests. If we are able to grant some or all of your wishes, we will notify you via email, and any incremental tax and shipping costs will be applied to your original order using the default method of payment on file.
Is my allocation guaranteed?
As a member, if you are offered an allocation, it will be guaranteed during the entirety of the release.

When is my wine ready to drink?
Our wines can be enjoyed upon release or cellared for 3-8 years, while our Burgundy Series bottlings benefit from aging for 2-10 years. We recommend decanting all wines prior to serving. All of our wines like to age in a dark environment with a consistent temperature between 55 and 60 degrees Fahrenheit and approximately 70% humidity.
